Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife. Pets are not allowed in or around lodging facilities.

Top 5 Things To Do

  1. Walk the Cypress Swamp Nature Trail, a short .3-mile loop trail, where you can identify trees, plants and native wildlife.
  2. Canoe or kayak down one of the longest blackwater rivers in the country, the Edisto River.
  3. Learn about this Civilian Conservation Corps-built park by visiting the resource center or reading an interpretive wayside.
  4. Read a book under the shade of a tall pine tree or enjoy a picnic along the Edisto River. 
  5. Fish along the banks of the Edisto River for bream, redbreast and catfish.
