Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife. Pets are not allowed in or around lodging facilities.

Description: From the trailhead at the post and rail fence, you can start this short walking loop trail. Along the trail, you can view a variety of trees and plants, including cypress, poplar, hickory, sweetgum, maple, dogwood, birch, and magnolia. You can follow the River Overlook to the dark water of the Edisto River. Hikers on the Cypress Swamp Nature Trail will be immersed in a wetland environment where countless species of birds, reptiles, fish, and insects call home.
