Please make sure you follow traffic signs when entering the park, as the route will be slightly different.  Visitors will be able to enjoy the beach, picnic area and historic lighthouse as usual.  

We currently have over four miles of trails open.  Nature Center Scenic Trail, Lagoon Access Recreation Trail, Marsh Boardwalk Crossover Trail, Palmetto Pines Pass, 75% of the Maritime Forest Trail, and a short section of the Magnolia Forest Trail are all open.

A portion of the pier is open, however, no fishing or crabbing is allowed at this time.

Pets Logo


Pets are not allowed in the cabin or the cabin area, on the pier or inside the lighthouse complex. Dogs are not permitted on the tip of North Beach past the posted markers to protect critical shorebird habitat. Pets are allowed in most other outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife.

Picnic Shelters

  • Picnic Shelter Information: A picnic shelter may be reserved for $26-39/day. Rates are subject to change. If the shelter is not reserved, guests may use it on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge. Note: Admission is not included in shelter price. Rates listed do not include applicable tax and nonrefundable reservation costs.

  • Picnic Tables: Picnic areas with tables are scattered throughout the park and in the North Beach and South Beach areas.
