Visitor Center/Gift Shop: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily. Closed Christmas Day.

Animal Forest: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily. Closed Christmas Day.

Adventure: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., daily. Closed on Tuesdays and Christmas Day.
The Adventure will be away from the park for annual maintenance from January 1 through April 1 each year.

Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Pets and service animals are not permitted in the Animal Forest. Please clean up after your pet and dispose of waste properly.

Unique Features

  • Significant Features: The significant features of the site include river and marsh views, majestic oaks and magnolias and 80 acres of English park gardens.

    Charles Towne Landing is the site of the first permanent European settlement in South Carolina.

  • Wildlife: Wildlife you may see at the park include the threatened wood storks, alligators and various coastal wading birds in the wild.

    In the Animal Forest visitors can see animals that once inhabited the Charleston area such as bison, puma, black bear, otters, various shore birds, wild turkey and more.
