Things To Do

  • Fishing Information: Fishing may be enjoyed in the park’s 54-acre lake or in the black waters of the Little Pee Dee River. A valid South Carolina fishing license is required.

  • Fishing Pier: A 75-foot dock/pier is available at the park for fishing on the park lake.
  • Fishing: Yes

  • Boating and Boat Access: A boat ramp provides private boat access to the park lake. Private boats are restricted to an electric trolling motor and other non-motorized boats. Gas powered motors are not allowed.
  • Fishing Boat Rentals: Jon boats with life jackets and paddles are available for rental.
  • Canoe/Kayak Rentals: Canoes and kayaks with life jackets and paddles are available for rental.
  • Boating: Yes
  • Paddling: Yes
  • Boat Ramp: Yes
  • Playground Equipment: Yes
  • Park Store/Gift Shop: Limited retail items may be purchased from the park office.

  • Picnic Shelters: Yes
  • Playground: The playground is located in the day-use area of the park, near the lake.

  • Swimming: Swimming is available seasonally at the designated swimming area in Lake Norton. No lifeguards are on duty and you must swim at your own risk.
  • Bird Watching: The best places for birdwatching at the park are along the banks of Lake Norton and on the park nature trail.

  • Geocaching: Geocaching is permitted. Several geocaches are located on the park. For more information visit the official geocaching website.
  • Biking: Yes
  • Birding: Yes
  • Walking/Nature Trails: The 1.5 mile Beaver Pond Nature Trail can be accessed from the park road, main office, or from the campground. The 2.1 mile Longleaf Pine Trail can be accessed from the park road or main office.

  • Biking Trails: Park visitors may ride bicycles on any of the trails or paved park roads in the park. Bike rentals are available at the park office.

  • Hiking: Yes
