Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife.
How far is Little Pee Dee State Park from Myrtle Beach?
We are 60 miles from MB and it will take you around an hour to get there.
How do I get back to the Interstate (I-95)?
Printed directions to I-95 North and South are available to guests at the park office
Does Little Pee Dee allow guest to ride horses in the park?
We do not offer horse riding at the park.
Are guests allowed to swim in the park lake?
Yes, swimming is allowed seasonally in Lake Norton. No lifeguards are on duty and you must swim at your own risk.
What kind of fish do you have in the lake?
We have a variety of largemouth bass along with bream, crappie, and catfish.
Are there alligators in the lake?
Yes, there are alligators in the lake.
Can you put your personal boat in the lake and do you allow gas motors?
Yes, but trolling motors only, no gas.
Is there a way to access the Little Pee Dee River?
Go out of the park entrance and take a left and the first dirt road on your right will take you to our river access point.
How long are the park trails?
We have the Beaver Pond Nature Trail which is 1.5 miles and the Longleaf Pine Trail is 2.1 miles.
What is all that white sand about when I enter the park?
That is a sand rim of a Carolina Bay.
Where is the park’s Ultimate Outsider stamp located?
Our Ultimate Outsider stamp is located at the kiosk by the park office.
