TRAVEL ADVISORY

Please notice that we are experiencing a constant fluctuation of water levels at Lake Wateree State Park.  Please note that when water levels reach 100.5 ft., parts of our trail system become impassable.  Also, our boat ramp drops off when water levels reach 95.5 ft. or below.  Larger vessels over 18 ft. long, may want to use neighboring boat ramps when the lake drops to this level.

Lake levels may be monitored at the Duke Energy website.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Nature Trail

Length: 2.3 miles

Type: Hiking Trail

Difficulty: Easy

Description:  From the trail entrance off the park road, or from the parking area, begin this short, level, easy-walking, out-and-back nature trail. Several spur footpaths lead to the scenic lakeshore on this quiet, shady, peninsula. Watch for a variety of snakes and other wildlife including great blue heron, woodpeckers, and song birds. A short loop at the end of the trail turns you back to retrace your steps.
