PARK ADVISORY

Keowee-Toxaway State Park is CLOSED due to hazardous winter weather.  We will reopen as soon as conditions are safe.

 

From December until March 2026 our office will only be open from 4pm - 5pm each day, while we complete our campground utility upgrade. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Pets are not allowed in the cabin or the cabin area. Pets are allowed in most other outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife.

History & Interpretation

  • Education Center: The Jocassee Gorges Visitor Center houses exhibits about the region's extraordinary natural diversity, the region's importance as a scientific research destination, the history of the people who lived here in the past and features a three-dimensional topographic map of the region.

  • When & How PRT Acquired: Donated in 1970 by Duke Power Company
