The South Carolina Forestry Commission has issued a State Forester’s burning ban for all counties. A State Forester’s Burning Ban prohibits all outdoor burning, including yard debris burning, prescribed burning, campfires, bonfires, and other recreational fires in all unincorporated areas of the state. The ban will stay in effect until further notice.
The following SC State Parks are CLOSED due to wildfire activity:
9 a.m. - sunset
11a.m. - noon & 4p.m. - 5p.m. M-F 9a.m. - 5p.m. Sa-Su
$3 adults; $1.50 SC seniors; $1 children age 6-15; age 5 & younger free
Pets are not allowed in the camper cabins or the camper cabin area. Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife.
Chester State Park is always looking for volunteers!
Park Host Responsibilities:
To be available to campers, render assistance, and provide information; to ensure that the facilities and grounds are maintained; to project a positive image regarding customer service, appearance codes, and personal conduct.
Job Duties:
We want people to have fun and be safe at Chester State Park. Our hosts play a major role in the successful operation of Chester and serve as the eyes and ears of our campgrounds and other facilities, as our staff cannot be everywhere at once.
