Hunting Island Lighthouse to Reopen

South Carolina State Parks will celebrate the official reopening of the iconic Hunting Island Lighthouse with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and public tours on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.

Closed for renovations since 2022, the historic lighthouse will once again welcome visitors to climb to the top and experience panoramic views of the South Carolina coast. The reopening marks the return of one of the state’s most recognizable coastal landmarks.

The ceremony will feature remarks from park leadership and local officials, followed by the opportunity for guests to tour the lighthouse and enjoy the natural beauty of Hunting Island State Park.

Members of the public, community partners, and media are invited to attend.
