DO WE HAVE TO USE CERTAIN VENDORS AND IS A PLANNER REQUIRED?
You have the option to choose your vendors when booking an event at either Founders Hall or the Legare Waring House. All we require is a licensed planner for your event and that catering and bar service both be licensed and insured. If they are new to the facility, we also ask they submit a vendor application for approval.
CAN WE HANG THINGS FROM THE TREES?
Tents and lights must be rigged at the existing tent stakes on the sites. If you cannot do this, you must use poles and weighted bases.
At the Legare Waring House, between the patio and the Avenue of Oaks, lights cannot be secured to trees and bushes. You must use poles and weighted bases.
In the Avenue of Oaks, lights may be hung from tree branches with preapproval of type, method and locations by park management. No nails, staples, etc., may be used for securing. Items hung in the trees and any items needed to secure them including metal wiring, fishing line, cable, rope, etc., must come down! Nothing can be left in the trees.
WHAT KINDS OF SEND-OFFS ARE ALLOWED?
We allow a variety of send-offs on-site, however, they must be environmentally friendly and preapproved by our venue manager. Some items we do not allow include fireworks, sparklers, wishing lanterns and helium balloons.
WHEN CAN MY WEDDING BEGIN/END (NOISE RESTRICTION)?
By contract, your event time at either facility is 5 hours, ending by 11 p.m. This 5-hour span does not include your setup or breakdown. Setup may begin at 9:30 a.m. and breakdown must be completed within 2 hours of the end of the event. As the Legare Waring House lies within the heart of the park, your wedding ceremony cannot begin until the park is closed. November through March your ceremony may begin at 5 p.m. April through October your ceremony may begin at 6 p.m.
WHAT’S INCLUDED IN MY RENTAL?
Your rental includes: the house and surrounding grounds with different ceremony location options, bride and groom quarters, catering kitchen, a vendor parking area, an on-site dumpster, and parking and shuttling of guests on-site for the ceremony.
CAN I TENTATIVELY HOLD A DATE?
You may request a date hold and we will hold that date for 1 week. If the date is challenged by another renter, you will be given 48 hours notice to secure the date with an initial 50% deposit and signed contract. Your date is not finalized until we have the initial 50% deposit and signed contract.
WHEN CAN I HAVE MY REHEARSAL?
Rehearsals are held between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for a 1-hour period. If there is another wedding occurring the day of your rehearsal, your rehearsal will need to be between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
CAN I TAKE MY BRIDAL PORTRAITS AT THE PARK?
Brides that have booked Founders Hall or the Legare Waring House for their wedding have the opportunity to schedule a 5-hour time period on a weekday during park hours to take bridal portraits in the Legare Waring House at no extra charge.
Brides getting married off-site can rent the Legare Waring House for a 5-hour time period on a weekday during park hours. For brides not getting married at the park, there is a fee of $250.
DO YOU HAVE STAFF ON-SITE FOR MY EVENT AND DOES YOUR STAFF HELP WITH SETUP/BREAKDOWN?
We will have staff on-site during your entire event. Our staff however does not help with the setup and breakdown. Per contract, the renter is responsible for the setup and breakdown of the event.
IS THERE AMPLE PARKING/IS IT FREE?
We have plenty of parking for the size of events allowed at the site and the parking is included with your rental.
CAN I LEAVE MY CAR OVERNIGHT IF I HAVE TOO MUCH TO DRINK
We do not encourage leaving cars in the park overnight, but if you need to leave a car overnight, it must be parked in the main visitor center parking lot. It can then be picked up the next day during park hours. No cars may be left at the Legare Waring House overnight. This is due to its location in the middle of the park and the fact we park cars out on the park for this venue.
ARE LIVE BANDS ALLOWED AT MY EVENT?
While we allow bands, DJs and all other types of musical entertainment at the venues and on the grounds, only acoustic music is allowed to play inside the Legare Waring House. All music must end at 11 p.m. We measure decibels during sound check and during events. The decibel limit at a distance of 50 feet from the sound source is not to exceed 75 decibels and the decibel limit at the edge of the park property must not exceed 45 decibels.
