TRADITIONAL GRACE

This stately, circa 1840s house has hosted governors, international dignitaries and blushing brides alike. Adorned with quintessentially Charleston colors and furnishings, the grandeur of the Legare Waring House – with its avenue of majestic, moss-draped oak trees – is timeless.


CAPACITY

  • 200 guests outdoors and 75 indoors.

WEDDING SUITES

  • The Legare Waring House offers two seperate areas for the wedding party to get ready:
    • 4 rooms on one side of the house, each with a private bathroom.
    • Two-story wing with dressing room, private bathroom, lounge with Apple TV, card table and mini refrigerator.

  • Nestled amid an avenue of oak trees
  • Picturesque double lagoons
  • Screened porch (14 feet x 36 feet)
  • Wrought-iron water fountain
  • Fountain patio at the front of house (46 feet x 74 feet)
  • Tent rigging points allow for two sizes of tents: 40 feet x 55 feet and 40 feet x 70 feet

POWER

CATERING GUIDELINES

  • Approved, licensed, and insured catering and bar service.
  • Vendors must use upstairs restroom in the Groom’s Quarters. Vendors are allowed in the upstairs bridal suites upon request only.
  • Caterers are responsible for providing trash-can liners.
  • All trash shall be removed from the house and grounds and properly disposed of in the provided dumpster.
  • Breakdown all boxes and place next to the dumpster for recycling. 
  • All trash cans must be cleaned and re-bagged.
  • Do not dump ice on landscape or in grass.
  • Rentals shall be broken down and stored on rear kitchen patio for same night pickup.
  • Remove all items from kitchen equipment and clean up spills.
  • Kitchen floor shall be swept and spot-mopped.
  • Counters, sinks and all equipment must be thoroughly cleaned and wiped down.
  • A catering representative is required to check out with the Legare Waring House Manager-on-Duty, or the client’s security deposit will not be returned.


PARKING

  • Plentiful complimentary guest parking
  • Shuttle transportation from the parking area is provided for guests.
  • Maximum bus size: 7 feet x 40 feet
