PARK ADVISORY

Limited Equine Trail Access Alert for Saturday, May 9:
Due to a special event on Saturday May 9, the CCC trail & part of the Poplar Point Trails will be closed to equestrian use until later in the afternoon.  Staff will release access points once the event has cleared these trail areas.  Check with park staff and signage at the Equestrian Day-Use Parking Lot about trail availability for the morning.

Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife. Pets are not allowed in or around cabins, cabin areas or other lodging facilities.

Unique Features

  • Significant Features: The park is located adjacent to Kings Mountain National Military Park, a Revolutionary War battlesite.

    The 63-acre Lake York and the 13-acre Lake Crawford were both built by the CCC. The CCC rockwork of the bath house and the dam to Lake Crawford can be viewed by taking the Farm Trail.
