Our park office will be closed through the month of February, to undergo renovations.  During this time, our admission station will be open to assist visitors with reservations, check-in and check-out.  We will also have limited retail items (firewood, ice etc.) available for purchase in the admission station.  Thank you for your understanding and patience!

Unique Features

  • Significant Features: The park provides access to the 71,100-acre Strom Thurmond Lake. The lake is ideal for fishing, boating and various other watersports. The lake has over 1,200 miles of shoreline, is the second largest lake east of the Mississippi River and among the top ten visited U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lakes nationwide.

  • Wildflowers: The most predominant wildflower found on the park is wisteria. This vine blooms in the spring and can be found scattered throughout the park hanging from tall pines.
