Edisto River Adventures is the only tubing company to offer a full-service tubing operation on the Edisto River.  Pay one price and get a commercial-grade durable tube, shuttle, and all the fun at their riverfront outpost.  Edisto River Adventures operates out of Riverfront Hall at Givhans Ferry State Park from May to September.  Make reservations and plan your trip at EdistoRiverAdventures.com.

Pets are not allowed in the cabins or the cabin areas. Pets are allowed in most other outdoor areas provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet. Owners will be asked to remove noisy or dangerous pets or pets that threaten or harass wildlife.

Is swimming allowed at Givhans Ferry?

The park does not have a designated swimming area.  The park does provide access to the river in which you may swim at your own risk.

Are tubes and floats available for rent at the park?

The park does not rent tubes or floats.  You will have to provide your own.

Does the park rent canoes or kayaks?

There are no canoes or kayaks available for rent at the park.  You must provide your own or make arrangements with a local outfitter.  Please call the park for contact information for outfitters in the area.

Are alcoholic beverages allowed on the Edisto River?

Alcohol is permitted on the river as long as you are not operating a motorized watercraft.  However, the public display or consumption of alcohol on Givhans Ferry State Park and the public boat landings is prohibited.

Is internet access available at the park?

Yes, wireless internet access is available at the park office.

Does the park provide shuttle service to boat landings in the area?

The park does not provide shuttle service along the river.  It is always wise to arrange your own transportation when floating the river and returning to the park.

Are campfires allowed on the park?

Campfires are allowed in designated areas.  Each campsite and cabin has a fire ring that may be used for campfires.  Any wood on the ground may be collected for burning.  You may not cut any plants or trees to burn.

Are early cabin check-ins offered?

We are not able to allow early check-ins due to the small window of time we have to clean the cabins.  Cabin check-in is 4 p.m. and check-out is 10 a.m.

How far is the park from Charleston?

Givhans Ferry State Park is located 35 miles from downtown Charleston.  We are the closest state park to Charleston with overnight accommodations.

Where is the park’s Ultimate Outsider stamp located?

Our Ultimate Outsider stamp is located at the kiosk in front of Riverfront Hall. We also have stamps in the office and welcome station at the park.
