South Carolina has four beach parks on the Atlantic Ocean, which are perfect for a relaxing day of surf fishing. Two of these parks, Myrtle Beach and Hunting Island, even provide fishing piers to help you extend your range and provide better access to the big catch. Crabbing and shrimping are also popular types of fishing in South Carolina, with public grounds, docks and piers found throughout the state.
Intracoastal fishing is another popular way to fish in the Palmetto State, with the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway which runs the full length of the South Carolina coastline. Several of South Carolina’s state parks are perfect for all types of saltwater fishing, including Myrtle Beach State Park, Huntington Beach State Park, Edisto Beach State Park and Hunting Island State Park.
