PARK NEWS

The Pier Store will resume winter hours on Thursday, November 28th: Open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


Nature Center Closed on Sunday, December 22 and 29. We apologize for the inconvenience. 


Holiday Hours 2024:

Christmas Day

-The Pier Store will be closed but the pier will be open.

-The Ranger Station will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

-Park Office closed.

-Nature Center Closed


New Years Day

-Pier Store open 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

-Ranger Store open 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

-Park Office closed.

-Nature Center Open


Please be aware that parking is first-come, first-serve and is LIMITED. Shelter guests are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to arrive outside peak hours (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.), especially on weekends and holidays in the summer. The park is extremely busy during this time and may reach normal capacities and close for a period of time. Should you forget something, you may want to check our retail stores before leaving the park, as the wait to re-enter could be extensive, and you could be turned away if the park is at capacity.

$8 adults; $5/SC seniors (age 65 & older);
$4/ child age 6-15; Free for children 5 and younger.

Additional charges apply for pier fishing, overnight camping and certain park programs. Please visit the corresponding pages on this website for specifics.

Pets Logo

PETS

Pets are not allowed in the cabins or the cabin areas. Pets are not allowed on the beaches from 10am until 5pm (7 days a week) May 1 through Labor Day. This is a county ordinance that is effective on all public beaches in Horry County. Pets are allowed in most other outdoor areas year round, provided they are kept under physical restraint or on a leash not longer than six feet.

Bikes are also not allowed on the beach during the same time periods as pets.

Patch Programs

Kids ages 5 to 105!  Don't miss out on earning some cool Myrtle Beach State Park patches. These aren’t available at any otherHabitat Hero state park! Put some education in your vacation and earn a patch at the same time. For more information, call the nature center at 843-238-0874.

Habitat Heroes

People can complete four of the following to earn a patch: attend programs, complete self-led scavenger hunts or a combination of the two.

If you attend four of our park programs, you can receive one of these cool Myrtle Beach State Park Habitat Patches for your jacket, backpack, stuffed animal, hat or shirt. If you don't have time to earn a patch, donate $5 and pick a patch of your choice. Patches are available when the Nature Center is open.

If you attend 9 programs, you become a Habitat Hero! Habitat Heroes receive special recognition for their achievement!
