Mountain Region Staff Complete Dump Truck Operator Training

Teams & Recognition

In January, the South Carolina State Parks Mountain Region held a dump truck operator training to prepare staff to safely operate the region’s new dump truck.

Participants received classroom instruction covering proper operation procedures, safety expectations and regional guidelines for use of the vehicle. Following the classroom portion, staff completed a hands-on driving obstacle course designed to test and demonstrate their driving skills in real-world scenarios.

A total of 29 students attended the training. This course is required for any staff member who will operate the truck.

The new regional dump truck is a 2026 International MV 607 and will support ongoing maintenance and operational needs across parks in the Mountain Region.

Special thanks to Mountain Region Maintenance Supervisor Wayne Sanders for coordinating and leading the training.
