History of Pine Island/Lake Murray: Guided Informative Walking Tour
At Pine Island State Park
We welcome you to join us at Pine Island for an informative history tour with a ranger! Walking around the 27 acre park, you will learn about how Lake Murray was created in the 1930s, its history rooted in WW2 and how Pine Island evolved into the beautiful state park it is today! This walk offers scenic 360 views of Lake Murray while diving into history and local wildlife. You might even have a chance to get a look at our resident bald eagles or red foxes! Program attendees, please arrive 10-15 minutes early so we can be ready to go right at 9:30. We will meet at the Visitor Center located next to the beach area. We look forward to seeing you there.
