Park After Dark-Moonlight & Mysteries Night Hike
At Myrtle Beach State Park
Let's start the night by enjoying the moonrise over the ocean and the sunset beyond the sand dunes. Then we'll head into the woods, where we hope to hear the high-pitched hunting calls of bats overhead or the haunting calls of owls in the distance. The glow of the full moon, paired with red flashlights, will provide all the light we need for a magical walk beneath the stars. As we make our way out of the forest, we'll switch to ultraviolet (UV) lights and search for hidden life that glows under UV light, including millipedes, spiders, mushrooms, lichen, caterpillars, and more! Enjoy a night that's fun, slightly mysterious, and totally fascinating as we experience our park after dark! We will walk 1-mile. Only red lights or UV lights will be used. This program is designed for adults only. This engaging program will only run with at least 5 adults enrolled. We'd love to have you join us- invite a friend!
