This Halloween, grab your glow gear and join us for a fang-tastic adventure through the eerie (but adorable) maritime forest of Myrtle Beach State Park! As the sun sets and the spooks come out, we’ll light up the trail with ultraviolet (UV) lights to discover the hidden nightlife of nature—think glow-in-the-dark bugs, lichen-laced logs, and mysterious mushrooms that shine brighter than your trick-or-treat bag. We’ll keep our ears open for owls whispering hoot-dunnits and bats who just want to hang out. Thanks to our super spooky bat-detecting machine, we’ll be able to “listen in” on their squeaky conversations—don’t worry, it’s not eaves-dropping, it’s bat-chatter monitoring! Must be able to walk up to 1/2 mile. Appropriate for ages 10 to 110!
Online registration is required and once capacity is reached (15 people), registration will close. Registration Policy: Please ensure your confirmation has the correct program and date. We may ask to see the confirmation email upon arrival (screenshot or printed). Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be given due to participant cancellations. Weather Policy: Our programs will go on rain or shine, but we reserve the right to cancel scheduled programs for inclement weather which may include lightning, thunder, or other severe weather conditions that the staff deem potentially dangerous or unconducive to activities. In the event of the park cancelling a program, you may ask for a refund, by 4:30 pm the following day of the program, by emailing mbeachnature@scprt.com or calling 843-238-0874 with the registered name and the program. We thank you in advance for any donations to help fund educational programs.
