Civil War Pioneers
At Battle of Rivers Bridge State Historic Site
General Sherman's Pioneers were absolutely vital to his successful invasion of South Carolina during the closing months of the Civil War. During this program we will learn who they were and what they did during the war. After we learn what they did, we will put that knowledge to good use as participants build "a road across muddy terrain." You will also get to make your own Pioneer insignia patch to take home!
