Battle of Musgrove Mill Commemoration

At Battle of Musgrove Mill State Historic Site


On Saturday, August 17, 2024 the Battle of Musgrove Mill State Historic Site will be hosting a commemoration of the 244th Anniversary of the August 19, 1780 Revolutionary War battle of Musgrove Mill. The commemoration will begin at 10:00 am and will be led by local chapters of the Children of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Sons of the American Revolution. Following the commemoration there will be light refreshments available. Directly following the Commemoration on the Visitor Center porch there will be a seated Ranger Battlefield Talk on the history of the battle. This one-hour lecture will cover the history of why the battle occurred, the specifics of the battle itself, and the importance of the battle to the Patriot cause. This event is free to the public.
