BOOK NOW

On New Year's Day, run through the hills at Devils Fork State Park with the park rangers for the annual First Day 5K Ranger Run! The First Day 5K Ranger Run starts at 10 AM on January 1, 2025. The 5K course is a paved road loop leading from the picnic area/day use parking lot, down to the remote boat ramps and back. This 5K is for all runners, joggers, walkers, dog walkers (all dogs must be on a leash at all times and not aggressive), and the course is stroller friendly. There are some moderate hills, so this is no stroll around the school track! The First Day 5K Ranger Run is open to everyone, regardless of running skill, shape, or ability. Start the new year with some exercise, cheer on your friends and family, and visit beautiful Lake Jocassee in winter! The First Day 5K Ranger Run is $35 per person, and registration is required. Same day race registration will not be available. The First Day 5K registration will close on December 31, 2024. Race souvenirs and park admission are included for all registered runners.
