Sea Turtle Patrol
At Myrtle Beach State Park
Patrol the beach with a ranger in search of sea turtle activity while learning how state parks protect these incredible creatures. We will be looking for sea turtle crawls to see if we have any new nests on our beach. Sea turtle activity is not guaranteed, however, you will enjoy a nice sunrise stroll on the beach, pick up trash, and fill in holes to help sea turtles. We will walk at least 1/4 mile, but it could be more based on potential turtle activity. No pets. You must register online. Appropriate for ages 7 to 107.

Registration Deadline
Online registration is required and once capacity is reached (20 participants), registration will close. Deadline is the Wednesday before the program. No walk ins the morning of the program will be accepted. Registration Policy: Please ensure your confirmation has the correct program and date. We may ask to see the confirmation email upon arrival (screenshot or printed). Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be given due to participant cancellations. Weather Policy: Our programs will go on rain or shine, but we reserve the right to cancel scheduled programs for inclement weather which may include lightning, thunder, or other severe weather conditions that the staff deem potentially dangerous or unconducive to activities. In the event of the park cancelling a program, you may ask for a refund, by 4:30 pm the following day of the program, by emailing mbeachnature@scprt.com or calling 843-238-0874 with the registered name and the program. We thank you in advance for any donations to help fund educational programs.
Event Hours
See schedule above. Park gates open at 6 am. Sea turtles are not on human schedules! If there is activity, we may go beyond 7:45am. We recommend being flexible with your time.
Meeting Place
Meet at the picnic tables on the pier deck.
What to Bring
Please be prepared to drive to a different location in the park if turtle activity requires. Dress for the weather.
