A: Children 5 to 9 years of age, but anyone who is interested in participating may do so.

Q: Is there a cost for kids to participate in the Junior Ranger Program?

A: No. The program is free.

Q: What is the purpose of the Junior Ranger Program?

A: To get children outside to experience and enjoy their state parks.

Q: How many levels are involved with the Junior Ranger Program?

Q: Are there any rewards for completing the program?

Q: Are all the parks in South Carolina offering the Junior Ranger Program?

Q: Will my child be safe while at the park participating in the program?

A: State parks are safe places where parents can feel comfortable letting their children spend time.

Q: Why participate in this program?

A: State Parks offer the best natural and cultural sites in South Carolina. The children learn about their state while having fun.

Q: Can special needs children participate?

A: Yes. The program can accommodate children with special needs. Please let a park ranger or staff know if your child needs a special accommodation while at one of the parks.
