Ace Woodworks is a father/daughter collaboration and was started in 2016. My daughter, Ally, does the graphic designing and I take that artwork to the scroll saw to create these unique art pieces. The process is time consuming and involves affixing the drawn pattern on a plank of wood and drilling holes through each internal design of the pattern. A very fine blade is fed through the hole and the design is carefully cut out one by one. Once all internal designs are cut the piece can be cut out out from the plank of wood. The edges are then sanded by hand to smooth out the sharp edge. The natural color of the wood dictates what color it will be mounted on. Acrylic paint, and sometimes wood dyes, are used to color the ¼’ Birch Plywood backing. The frames are made, and stained, to fit the overall concept of the piece and the process is complete. We are located in Little River SC.
