The most important focus of the scratchboard pieces Chandra creates is expression. It's all about the face! She hopes her work puts a smile on yours! Scratchboard is made by scraping away bits of black ink from a layer of white clay line by line. The image you see is the revealed white clay, which is why she refers to her work as expressions from scratch. Any color you see is colored ink painted in after scratching.
