Written in Ink: A Historic Valentine Workshop

At Oconee Station State Historic Site

BOOK NOW

Step back into the 1800s and celebrate Valentine’s Day the old-fashioned way. Using quill pens and ink, participants will create a handwritten Valentine while learning how love and courtship were expressed in the 19th century, long before text messages and store-bought cards.

This hands-on program is designed for ages 10 and up. Participants will be writing with real ink, so please dress appropriately, keeping in mind that spills and ink stains are part of the historic experience. This program offers a meaningful glimpse into historic communication and a chance to slow down, put words to paper, and create a Valentine worth keeping.
