Explore the artistry of textiles at A World of Cloth. Discover how fabric was used in the Carolina backcountry. Watch weavers at work on our antique loom and reproduction tape looms. Try your hand at weaving on a rigid heddle loom. The museum will feature displays of historic and reproduction clothing, along with demonstrations of sewing and other textile arts that kept households clothed in the 1700s. Join us at Andrew Jackson State Park to see, touch, and experience the world of cloth that helped weave the fabric of early America. From homespun wool to fine imported silk, textiles were essential in every colonial home. A World of Cloth brings those stories to life, offering a close look at the fabrics and techniques and of the 18th century. This special program, offered free with park admission, will take place inside the museum at Andrew Jackson State Park.
