Flip the Script: Honoring the Women of the She-She-She Camps

At Oconee State Park

A Women's History Month Special Event

History has long celebrated the men of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), but what about the women? This Women’s History Month, we’re flipping the script at Oconee State Park to spotlight the Residential Training Schools for Unemployed Women, most often called the She-She-She Camps.

Join us as we step into the shoes of the women who worked, learned, and built their futures in the shadow of the Great Depression. As you move through the self-guided gallery walk, images and story panels reveal the experiences of women whose lives were shaped by the CCC, all within a park shaped by the same program.
