The Green Sisters

At Oconee Station State Historic Site

Discover the Story of Four Remarkable Women

Join us as we celebrate Women's History Month with an engaging interpretive program about the Green Sisters: Victoria, Tecoa, Perneacy, and Salina Green. These independent women lived and worked at Oconee Station for over 70 years, running a self-sufficient farm, crafting intricate quilts, preserving foods for year-round use, and welcoming visitors to their historic home.

On March 14, 2026, exploration stations and a ranger will be available near the historic buildings for self-paced exploration.
