Dog Training Class- Doggie Etiquette
At Myrtle Beach State Park
Learn essential skills to transform your dog into a model citizen with our "Doggie Etiquette" class! This class focuses on teaching crucial social behaviors and polite habits. Through positive reinforcement techniques and slow guidance, your dog will learn to exhibit exceptional manners and enhance their social skills. We will work on loose leash walking, basic obedience, public manners, and recall. Training is offered in 4-week increments that build on skills over time. The first session starts January 11 or February 8, but classes may also be taken individually as stand-alone sessions. Our CBCC-KA/CPDT-KA instructor, Heather, will provide personalized guidance, ensuring each dog progresses at their own pace. Capacity: 5 dogs (1 dog per owner) Requirements: A dog with any sign of a communicable disease or aggression will not be admitted. Dog owners must sign a SCPRT liability waiver. Proof of rabies and DHLP vaccine required.

Registration Deadline
A day before the program (4pm) or until program books up. Online registration is required and once capacity is reached (5 dogs- 1 per owner), registration will close. Registration Policy: Please ensure your confirmation has the correct program and date. We may ask to see the confirmation email upon arrival (screenshot or printed). Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be given due to participant cancellations. Weather Policy: We reserve the right to cancel scheduled programs for inclement weather which may include heavy rain, lightning, thunder, high winds, or other severe weather conditions that the staff deem potentially dangerous or unconducive to activities. In the event of the park cancelling a program, you will receive a refund.

Meeting Place
Near the Nature Center- look for the red sign post pointing you to a large and colorful box turtle across the foot bridge in the Outdoor Story Area
What to Bring
Your dog’s favorite toys, treats, and a standard flat collar and leash. Your dog must be on a leash at all times. No choke chains, training collars, or e-collars. Proof of rabies and DHLP vaccine required. We will be outside so dress for the weather.
Price
In addition to park admission, $10 per dog. Only one dog per owner per registration.
