Resistance Run - First Day Hike Program

At Rose Hill Plantation State Historic Site

Discover the legacy of plantation resistance in our Resistance Run First Day Hike Program, highlighting the courageous efforts of those enslaved here at Rose Hill. Dive into diverse forms of resistance and hear compelling stories of four individuals enslaved here, who actively pursued freedom. We will embark on a symbolic 1.6 mile run from Rose Hill to the Tyger River bridge, a journey that pays homage to the endurance and determination of those who sought their own freedom. Registration is required by December 31, 2023 for this program.
