Park Day at Hanging Rock
At Andrew Jackson State Park
JJoin the South Carolina Society of the Children of the American Revolution and the South Carolina State Park Service for Park Day at Hanging Rock. We will work to remove graffiti, to pick up litter and to complete other maintenance tasks. Participants are encouraged to bring their own chairs, gloves, safety glasses, clippers, polesaws, rakes, garden tools, sunscreen, and bug spray. Take Flat Rock Road to Hanging Rock Road. On Hanging Rock Road, proceed across Hanging Rock Creek and park along the road. This annual event brings history enthusiasts together in an effort to help keep our nation’s heritage not only preserved but pristine. Since 1996, the American Battlefield Trust has sponsored Park Day, an annual hands-on preservation event to help Civil War — and now Revolutionary War & War of 1812 — battlefields and historic sites take on maintenance projects large and small.
