Join us as we kick-off spring and celebrate the rare Oconee bell during it's late-winter, early-spring blooming season. They grow in very few places, but one of the best places to see them is along the Oconee Bell Trail at Devils Fork State Park. Walk with a naturalist and hear the interesting story of the Oconee bells' discovery and subsequent disappearance for decades. The story doesn't end there, but you will have to attend to hear the rest of the story and to actually see them in bloom! Guest speaker will be Dan Whitten. Event is free with paid park admission. $8 adults; $5 SC seniors (age 65 and older); $4 children ages 6-15; ages 5 and under, free. Event includes: Interpretive Oconee Bell Trail walks, the Oconee Bell story presentation, live music, food trucks, local vendors, artists and authors, silent auction to benefit FOJ, and a fun, relaxing day at the park! Event is made possible by The Friends of Jocassee. For more information on joining this group, email friendsofjocassee@gmail.com www.friendsofjocassee.org
