BOOK NOW

History will come to life with Ranger Laura as she reads a variety of children's books about historic events. Topics and books change for each event, but Ranger Laura's passion for history will always be the same!

Saturday, December 21 On Christmas day in 1776, George Washington and the soldiers under his command were not opening their presents from Santa Claus. They were on the snowy banks of the Delaware River fighting for America's Independence. Join Ranger Laura to learn about that day as we read Christmas, 1776.

Saturday, January 4 Andrew Jackson became the Hero of New Orleans on January 8, 1815 when his men defeated the British Army. Join Ranger Laura to hear the story of this important battle as it is told from a different perspective. We will be reading The Battle of New Orleans: The Drummer’s Story. Meet Jordan Noble, a 14 year old African-American drummer, who played an important part in the battle. After we read the book, make a craft to take home with you.
