Turkey Trot 5K
At Hickory Knob State Resort Park
Celebrate Thanksgiving with a 5K run through the park on Thanksgiving morning at Hickory Knob State Park Resort. Wear a crazy costume or dress up like a turkey for some Thanksgiving fun. There will be a special prize for whoever dresses up in the most original and craziest costume!
This 5K is open to everyone, from beginner runners and joggers, experienced athletes to dog walkers - all are welcome. This race will be timed, so you can run as fast or as slow as you want. The course will be on the main park road, but the road shoulder is wide enough to accommodate runners who don't like pavement. The cost to register for the Turkey Trot 5K is $30 which includes your park admission and registration fees.
All registered runners will receive souvenirs and be eligible for door and top place finisher prizes. All proceeds for the 5K will go towards trail improvements at Hickory Knob State Park.
The 5K starts at 10 AM, but stick around after the race and enjoy the park, have your Thanksgiving meal at the Hickory Knob restaurant after you have worked up an appetite!
