At Hampton Plantation State Historic Site

What do a president, gold coins, lost love, and a Gullah cemetery have in common? They are all legends of Hampton Plantation! Join our rangers as we explore the history of Hampton Plantation, Georgetown, and the South Santee region through local legends. From buried treasure in Hampton's front lawn to burial practices in a Gullah Cemetery, each of these stories will provide insight to the people who once called Hampton home. After the tour make your own S'mores by the bonfire. Enjoy a hayrides around the park grounds. Bring your friends, wear a costume, eat a s'more, and enjoy this unique Hampton Plantation experience. Elizabeth Huntsinger, author of "Ghosts of Georgetown" will also be present and available for book signings. Reservations are not required but encouraged.
