Do you love trees? J. Sterling Morton loved them so much that he created Arbor Day in 1872 as a holiday dedicated to planting more trees. Celebrate Arbor Day by visiting the park and join members of Garden Clubs, Master Gardeners, heritage societies, the Friends of Andrew Jackson State Park and the State Park Service plant trees. If you would like to donate a native tree or help with tree trimming or planting that day, please contact the park office.
