Commemoration of the 245th Anniversary of the Battle of Hanging Rock

At Andrew Jackson State Park


Join us at the historic Hanging Rock Battlefield to learn about the military actions that occurred there in August 1780. Listen to experts discuss the events that happened there during the American Revolution. Explore the battlefield using the Hanging On the Edge of Freedom Trail. Meet costumed living-history interpreters who will bring to life some of the people who visited the Hanging Rock in the 1700s. Hear how people were directly affected by the battle. Gain an understanding of how the outcome of attacks by patriot militia shut down a British army outpost.

    Meet on the Hanging Rock Battlefield at the gravel parking lot on the Hanging Rock Battlefield which is located on Beecher Horton Road near the intersection of Flat Rock Road near Heath Springs, SC.
