Make Your Own Sweetgrass Basket
At Hampton Plantation State Historic Site
Come out to Hampton Plantation State Historic Site to learn a centuries-old practice that goes back to the coasts of West Africa. Every member of the family aided in making sweetgrass baskets, and the skill of this art form was passed on to each new generation. Bring a friend and join Ms. Barbara McCormick as she passes on the tradition to you! Tickets are $50 per person. Space is limited so please call & RSVP with your name and number of people in your party soon. Bring your own scissors, snacks, water and bug spray.
