Interpretive Ranger Tim Lee
Park Service Profiles
Helping Others Learn
When asked to describe the most satisfying part of his job, Tim Lee decisively declares “The opportunity to learn and share information with others regarding the natural history of South Carolina.” As the Interpretive Ranger at the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area, Tim definitely has plenty of natural history to share with guests.
Encompassing Caesars Head State Park and Jones Gap State Park, the Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area covers 11,000 acres of pristine southern mountain forest, which makes Tim’s office one that’s full of diverse and rare plant life – not to mention breathtaking views. In fact, Tim remembers overhearing a child say it best one morning at Caesars Head Overlook when he exclaimed, “I can see the WHOLE world from here!” Gazing out on a crystal clear morning, it’s hard to argue.
Tim has worked at Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area for 11 ½ years and is responsible for developing, marketing and presenting educational programs, exhibits and materials. He also inventories and monitors the flora and fauna.
Tim Lee grew up in Anderson, SC and received degrees in both Biology and Science Education from Clemson University. He currently lives at Caesars Head where he enjoys hiking and kayaking.
