Office Manager Amanda Trout

Park Service Profiles

Meet Amanda Trout!  Amanda grew up in Jeanette, Pennsylvania and attended the Bradford Business School of Pittsburgh for Hospitality and Travel Management. She is married to Joel Trout and has one stepdaughter.  

Amanda started her career with South Carolina State Parks in 2018 at Myrtle Beach State Park, where she is now the Office Manager. While on the job, she conducts interviews, completes new hire paperwork, creates monthly schedules for employees, trains new employees, makes reservations, sells park passports and much more! Amanda says that she was lucky to have experienced office employees and park rangers to help show her the ropes when she was preparing for this position.  

Some of the tasks she enjoys most at her job are training and helping with guests’ concerns. One of the most challenging times of her career was answering the many phone calls during the pandemic. Amanda would encourage others to pursue this career and says that each day is diverse and rewarding. For someone interested in this field, she advises they never stop learning, helping others and teaching. She says a good attitude goes a long way and to treat others how you would like to be treated.
