I was blessed to recieve a degree in Fine Arts from Clemson University in 2000. I studied several art disciplines including painting, figure drawing, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. After graduating I spent over a decade painting and drawing ( and had five beautiful children! ). In the spring of 2013, I was reunited with clay! I dedicated 2013 to exploring the media by building with slabs, molding on my pottery wheel, experimenting with glazes, and learning to fire my own kiln. In the spring of 2014, I took a leap and launched Elizabeth b. Ceramics!
Our home is nestled in the woods of the South Carolina low country.. We are currently in the process of building a "proper" studio, and I have been working in the hub of our home, our kitchen table, for the last seven years. All of my pieces are one of a kind and each piece is made by hand from start to finish. The majority of my work is thrown on the pottery wheel. I spend a lot of time meticulously piercing and/or adding intricate texture.
I currently travel around South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida participating in art festivals. I count it an honor and a blessing to be able to meet and interact with people who choose to make my pieces a part of their lives, and I thank God daily for leading me to a media that I am so very passionate about.
