Hardtack and Coffee: Christmas During the Civil War
At Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site
Visit Redcliffe for this special seasonal program to learn about what life was like during the holidays for families of Redcliffe and those who served in the Civil War. We’ll learn how the Civil War changed holidays in America and hear some of the stories from Hammond family members about experiences during the 1860s. Don’t worry, we’ll make hardtack and coffee to try but will have other refreshments as well.
