"Slavery at Early Charles Towne and the Slave Dwelling Project" by Joseph McGill, Founder Of The Slave Dwelling Project

At Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site

Joseph McGill will discuss his efforts to preserve and interpret historic structures associated with slavery. Part of the mission of the Slave Dwelling Project is to explore “the intertwined history of Americans of African and European origins, from the country’s founding to the present, to help us rewrite the narrative of history, preserve slave dwellings, and have dialogue about the legacies of slavery.” This evening’s lecture will also connect Mr. McGill’s work to the specific history of slavery at early Charles Towne.
