Reading the Woods
At Paris Mountain State Park
While hiking along a trail, there are stories to be told, if one only knows how to read them – in the landscape, the trees, and in the behavior of the animals. Join Ranger Cathy Taylor on a hike to Mountain Lake and back, reading the woods, while Mountain Creek sings its story all along the way. Quotes from some well-known forest storytellers will help participants find the stories told along Sulphur Springs trail. Meet at Shelter 6 in the Sulphur Springs Parking Area for this easy to moderate one-mile round trip walk. This 2-hour program is $7 per person, payable at the admission booth. Admission is waived. Registration is required. To register, email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or call the park office at 864-244-5565.
