Devils Fork Photography Workshop with Don McGowan
At Devils Fork State Park
This three-day adventure into creative digital photography is a chance to learn, practice, and integrate a variety of new skills: new ways of seeing the visual world, new ways of thinking about the photographic process, new ways of technical understanding – from the mind’s eye to the camera to the computer. Don McGowan has over 30 years of photography experience, and has held many titles, including staff photographer of Friends of the Great Smoky Mountains. Don has traveled the nation to take photographs of magnificent landscapes, scenic locations, and all that natures shares with us. Experience the beauty around us at Devils Fork State Park and have Don teach you along the way to take better photographs to preserve your memories.
Advanced beginners, intermediates, and budding professionals are welcome. A basic knowledge of your camera - aperture, shutter speed, ISO, exposure and compensation - is essential. A laptop computer with image-processing software (PhotoShop, OnOne, etc.) is required. A basic understanding of that software is essential.
Because of the magnitude of photography equipment that exists, Don has compiled a list of equipment you will need for this workshop. Please check .Don’s website for the equipment checklist and to see many of his images, additional information about him, and reach out to Don if you have any questions.
