Hello.  My name is Ray Felton, and I am the park manager at Sadlers Creek State Park.  One summer while in college, I got a job at Yosemite National Park. It was amazing to come out of my little house and look up at Half Dome every day. It was awesome to speak to the other employees, and see the amazing scenery of Yosemite.  That job made me want to be a park ranger.

My favorite spot at Sadlers Creek is the fishing pier. It is great to come over at night and see the fish that are attracted to the green underwater lights. I greatly enjoy fishing at night on saltwater piers, so this a similar experience.

First time visitors to Sadlers Creek should keep their eyes open for fox squirrels. They are fun to watch, as they scurry along the ground with movements that can be similar to a lemur. I have seen them just jump around and play. You will find grey fox squirrels with a hint of red, and solid black fox squirrels here on the park.

Sadlers Creek State Park sits on 395 acres on a peninsula that extends into Lake Hartwell, one of the Savannah River reservoirs. Camping on Lake Hartwell at one of 37 lakefront campground sites, observing wildlife and recreational watersports are only a small sampling of activities to be enjoyed in the park.

The park makes a perfect location for family reunions or other gatherings, offering a lakeside pavilion and two rental picnic shelters.

Lake Hartwell offers easy access to the Savannah River National Scenic Highway and its convenience to I-85 makes it a tempting spot for anyone near Anderson.
